The GDECK has the same amount of board in different more functional places. This design isn’t meant to float any better, but to have a thinner rail with equal volume. The benefits of a thinner rail are that of sensitivity, bite, speed and release. Usually the over thinning of a rail will create unwanted “tippyness”. But with the GDECK’s platform out near the rail, it still has the needed stability. The wider outline and rounded nose give this board the speed and maneuverability needed for smaller surf. The wing and swallow reduce the tail area for a tighter fit. A great board to have in your quiver. All Santa Cruz boards come with a custom fit padded bag.
